I love to cook, and many of my family loves cooking too, but we all have our own little Twists on recipes and that's what I'm here to share with you, My Twists on some great recipes that make them even more tasty.
Some are new some are old favorites but I put time and love into everything I make and write about.
We love Chinese Food at this house and so I have learned to make some easy Fried Rice
This is so easy and why would you want to go out to get it?
What you need:
3 cups cooked white rice (day old or leftover rice works best!)
A good drizzle of olive oil about 3 good turns of the pan -1/4 cup
1 pound chicken, about 2-3 chicken breasts, cubed
1 tb sesame oil
1.4 cup soy sauce
1-2 tsp 5 spice powder(chinese seasoning)
1 cup frozen peas and carrots (thawed)
1 small onion, chopped
2 tsp minced garlic
2 eggs, slightly beaten
dash of soy sauce if needed
How to Make it:
On medium high heat, heat the oils in a large skillet or wok. Add chicken and seasonings cook till tender add garlic cook another minute or two, then add onions and cook all about 4 more minutes.
Add the peas/carrots mix add soy sauce
Stir fry until tender. Lower the heat to medium low and push the mixture off to one side, then pour your eggs on the other side of skillet and stir fry until scrambled.
Now add the rice and soy sauce and blend all together well. Stir fry until thoroughly heated!
If it needs it add a dash of soy sauce to serve
**You could really play around with this rice too! Try adding some diced ham, or green onion :) Yum!
