Cowboy-Up Cookies

Our College team is the OSU Cowboys so of course we must have our own cookie for football game time.
These are filled with oats, chocolate chips and nuts, you have to try these

Ingredients
1 cup (2 sticks) margarine, softened
¾ cup sugar
¾ cup brown sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 cups flour
2 cups old-fashioned oats
1 teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon baking powder
1-1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
1 cup chopped toasted walnuts or pecans (optional)
Preparation
Cream together margarine and sugars. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Add dry ingredients and beat until just blended. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts, if using. Cover dough and chill for 1 hour.
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Drop by tablespoonfuls onto greased cookie sheets. Flatten slightly and bake for 12-14 minutes, rotating halfway through baking. Cool on cookie sheets for 5 minutes; then remove to wire rack to cool.
