Cheddar Chowder

Put your veggies in a big pot and cook up this Cheddar Chowder, then add some fresh bread sticks and a light dessert and your family will love you even more than normal. The smokey Paprika adds just the right spice to this creamy Chowder.

2 C water
2 C potatoes (diced)
1/2 C carrots (diced)
1/2 C celery (diced)
1/4 C chopped onion
2 cloves of garlic (diced)
1 t. salt
1/4 t. pepper
1/4 t. smokey paprika
1/4 C margarine
1/4 C flour
2 C milk
2 C grated cheddar cheese
1 C cubed ham

Combine water, potatoes, carrots, celery, onion, garlic, salt, pepper and Paprika in a large kettle. Boil for 10-12 minutes.
In a small saucepan, make the white sauce by melting the butter, and adding the flour. Stir until smooth. Slowly add the milk and cook til thickened. Add the cheddar cheese to the white sauce and stir until melted.
Add the sauce and the cubed ham to the soup.
