New Orleans Style BBQ Shrimp

New Orleans Style BBQ Shrimp
New Orleans Style BBQ Shrimp Recipe
My husband fell in love with this dish on a business trip to New Orleans and decided I had to learn how to make it. The good news there is I got to go to New Orleans, not just for that but it worked in my favor. I found the recipe there and we love to eat this dish on special occasions. *Note this is not BBQ as in typical BBQ sauce. This dish has New Orleans style "kick" (in other words spicy). It is a must to serve this with crusty french bread to soak up the sauce. A salad or greens beans are a nice accompaniment too.
Cook time: 5 Min Prep time: 30 Min Serves: 2-4
2 lb fresh shrimp, peeled and deviened
1 stk butter
1/2 c olive oil
1 Tbsp soy sauce
1 Tbsp lemon juice
2 bay leaves
1 Tbsp black pepper
1 tsp cayenne pepper
1/2 tsp paprika
1 Tbsp rosemary
1/4 tsp thyme
1/4 tsp oregano
1 1/2 tsp salt
1 Tbsp Tobasco sauce
1. Combine all ingredients except shrimp and warm until butter is melted. This can be done in microwave or oven at 350 degrees. I use the microwave.
2. Add shrimp and cook until shrimp are pink, this won't take long usually 5 minutes. If using microwave watch carefully checking every 1-2 minutes so you don't end up with tough shrimp which would ruin the dish.
